                    About Jasper and Jasper ArtFest

                    Picture
Jasper, GA is “The First Mountain City” because it is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. To get there from Atlanta you can travel north on I-75 and proceed up I-575 (GA 515) through Canton. We are about 50 miles north of Atlanta, GA.

We picked this weekend to have the Jasper ArtFest because North Georgia needs it! There is very little going on, so come on up and join us! If you are an accepted artist, you will not have to submit to the jury panel for 2013, and will be assured a booth space for successive years. We had a weekend crowd of an estimated 5000 visitors in 2011, and with most artists returning we expect that figure to grow impressively in 2012.

In 2011 we joined as a community to weave the world's largest Kudzu Basket, and here it is! Nine feet tall! We have a creature in mind for next year's  weaving project, but we can't say what it is yet.

On Sunday, "The Art of the Auto" featured "THE BIG RIGS". Visitors were even allowed to get up inside for a look at the customization of these vehicles as well as a look at what it's like to sit behind the wheel of a classic road tractor.
